I mean, artists come and go all the time but most of them don't have the impact these two had in such short amount of time.
With all of this said, I find it pretty odd how these two powerhouses of the 2010s vanished so quickly from the top (third album for Gaga and fourth for Katy). I would even say they reached icon status only 4 years into their mainstream career.
They and their music were cultural phenomenons, breaking many records and achieving countless milestones during the beginning of the past decade (not to mention their mainstream success took off with their very first singles). Out of all the pop divas the late 2000s/early 2010s spawned, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga were arguably the most successful and impactful of the bunch (at least at the time).
